Police Led Alcohol Intervention Checklist and Toolkit
2023
Working alongside Alcohol Change UK, the Government have recently published a toolkit setting out Police led interventions to supplement existing expertise within Police forces when dealing with alcohol related incidents.
The toolkit has not been designed to tell officers what to do but to provide options that could be used and that are available to them.
It encourages officers to work strategically, providing guidance to frontline officers on how to tackle various forms of alcohol related harm, and sets out how they can support the engagement from other agencies.
As this may be of interest to Operators to help you understand how the Authorities may approach alcohol related incidents, we have provided below links to the relevant sections covered by the toolkit:
- Section 1. A checklist / self-audit tool
- Section 2. The toolkit – strategic responses
- Section 3. The toolkit – licensing, night-time economy, street drinking and drink-driving
- Section 4. The toolkit – Addressing individuals with alcohol use disorders
- Section 5. The toolkit – Innovation
- Sections 6-8. Alcohol and its impact on policing
- Section 7. Non-crime impacts of alcohol on policing
- Section 8. The cost of alcohol-related crime to the police
